New Baby Chicks

Yesterday after our yearly standardized testing, we went to the park and are pizza.  It was a beautiful day and we needed to hang around in town for a little while until our new baby chicks arrived.  They actually were running late, so we also went to McDonalds for ice cream to kill time (the children were not disappointed :)

We got a batch of 25 cute little peeping Brown Bovan chicks.  This is our 6th year raising chickens for 4 H.  It has been a great learning experience for my children.  Chickens are fairly easy to raise so the children can do all of the work themselves, plus provide food for our family (eggs) and buy feed through selling their eggs.

I got some cute pictures of day 1 chicks.  Christian is so funny he said, "How come they are so cute when they are little but then they look so different and kind of ugly when they are big?"   I don't know Christian, that's the way God made them!
