We LOVE to read! We LOVE books! How do you make the most of your book budget, when you homeschool? We do use two small libraries that are close by, but we also buy a lot of books. Our closest bookstore is 1 hr away, so I do a lot of my shopping online. Here are some tips to get the most for your money.
1. Check ebay. Anything you want you can find it on ebay. Look for "lots" of books, or when looking for a particular book, check the sellers other auctions you never know what kind of deal you can find. I bought 17 books from 3 separate auctions from a seller last week, and since she combined shipping I only paid $3.68 to ship all of the books. I only paid $8.00 for the books, so for 17 books I spent $11.68.
2. Amazon.com has a wide variety of used and new books. If you order over $25 from the amazon store, they ship for free. People that sell on Amazon have books listed for as little as a penny, but it is $3.99 shipping for each book.
3. When buying on half.com find a book you are looking for, then check the sellers store to see if they have any other books you are interested in. If you purchase more than one book from a particular seller, the first book's shipping is $3.50, but each book after that is only $1.89.
4. Shop at library sales. Library sales are a great place to get cheap books, and you don't have to pay shipping.
