Today we did several things in our Art Class. The children designed a cover for their Art Books and did a drawing of anything they wanted to in ink on the first page. I think it is interesting to see the children's different personalities coming out in their drawings. Alex designed a battle scene, Anthony did Star Wars, Nick started out drawing Tim Tebow number 15, but since he has drawn that on everything he has been doing lately, she did ask him to add a little more to his drawing like a football, jersey, football guy, and Chelsea drew a cross with the American flag around it.
Then the children did a celebration of Dr. Seuss's birthday. Our Art teacher read a Dr. Seuss book to the children while they designed and named their own Dr. Seuss character out of white paper and strips of colored paper. Then they drew a Dr. Seuss village in pencil. The last thing they did was created another character on paper by following a series of verbal instructions. It was amazing how different each child's drawing turned out by following the same set of instructions. After class we got to have a picnic in the park with some friends (though we missed those that were home sick.) The weather was gorgeous!!!
