Our Week in Review (June 25th-July 1st)

Wow it July already!  Where did June go?

This week Christian and Alex went off to the 4 H center in Ferndale for a 3 day camp.  Alex was attending Adventure/Challenge camp and Christian was attending junior camp.  These camps took place in the same place but had different activities.  This was Christian's first time to attend junior camp.  He said swimming was his favorite part (it was very HOT! and they have a nice pool) but enjoyed his other activities as well.  This was Alex's 2nd time to attend Adventure/Challenge Camp where they do things like climbing a rock wall and he loved it again.  They were both very tired when they came home Wednesday afternoon.  While they were there they participated in a community service project packing meals.

Lily and Emmie had a 3 day gymnastic camp this week on Mon, Wed, and Thursday for an hour each day.  Thursday when Lily woke up she said her everything was sore.  That is a lot to do all of that 3 days in a week rather then have it spread out over a month, but they had fun.

Lily had piano Thursday evening.

Friday we got up early and headed to Texarkana for the day.  We bowled 2 games with our Kids Bowl Free passes.  I bought the Family Pack when I signed the children up in the spring.  The Family Pack was around $25 and allows 4 adults to bowl each time with the children.  Our bowling alley is over an hour away so we only get to go a few times over the summer but it still is much cheaper with the pass then paying each game separately.  Art had to work but Chelsea and Cody came with us and brought the baby.  After bowling we had a quick bite to eat and then went to the movies to see The Incredibles II.  We enjoyed it.  We also had to do some shopping so by the time we got home it was almost time for bed.  It was a long day, but a good one.

Anthony did some coding this week using a book I just received to review, Code for Teens.

I hope you had a great week!

Happy Homeschooling!
