Homeschool Wrap Up Week 29

 Beautiful 1st roses of spring!

And I found where Lily's chickens have been stashing their eggs.  Behind my drift rose bush of all places!

This week we had another Healthy habits Cooking Experience.  The recipe was Cheesy Corn Dip.  It was a good lesson and easy to make and it was something we had never made before, but the kids were not a fan of it.

We also did a weather unit using our weather kit from 4 H.  We did a cloud in a jar and made a range gauge.  Our gauge measured almost 3 inches of rain throughout the day and night on Friday!

Week 29 in our Homeschool

Bible: We watched Episode 2 of The Chosen and read through our Psalms and Old Testament readings.

History: In MOH Vol 2 we studied: Geoffrey Chaucer and The Canterbury Tales, John Huss, and The Life and Death of Joan of Arc.  We will finish Vol 2 next week!

Geography: This week we studied Oklahoma and Texas.

Language Arts: Emmie's lessons are on Ramona and Her Father.  She read the book recently so instead of reading it again she is just working on the grammar lessons.  Lily is still working through Memoria Press Lassie Comes Home.

Latin: We finished up lesson 16 in Visual Latin.

Art: We created pieces of art based on the abstract artist Joan Miro.  They had a had time getting started, but once they got an idea ended up enjoying it more then they thought they would.

Math: Independent Work

Science:  Independent Work

It was a beautiful day for Alex's Trap Shoot on Saturday.  A bit windy which can make shooting trap hard, but the sun was shining a nice change from the pouring down rain and storms from the day before! His squad did very well and placed 3rd in the senior division.

We have been working to get things ready for the steer but ran out of fence and nobody has any! Art is hoping to find some when he goes to move Nick out of the dorm on Thursday.  We need to get a small shelter built and then we can move him over here.

I hope you had a great week!

Happy Homeschooling!

At least with the recipe, you know something not to make now! :)

Your roses are so pretty, and I wonder what makes chickens choose to lay where they do? Ours are laying everywhere but the nesting boxes which makes finding our eggs almost as much of an adventure as you're having finding yours.

Hurrah for getting close to the end of school subjects! I love starting new, and I love finishing up. The slogging through the middle is less enjoyable . . . but rather necessary.

Here's hoping you get your steer soon!
