Homeschool Wrap Up Week 7

This wrap up is a few days late.  I usually try and get it written on Sundays but this week I had a meeting Sunday afternoon at church and shortly after getting home got a call from Nick that the car had left him and the boys stranded.  I thought it was done for.  We didn't pay much for it  10 years ago (and it was very used then!) and know that the days on that car are numbered but really, really want it to last until the end of the school year.  Art headed off to get them while I had to do all of their animal chores.  The car had to be loaded on the trailer and brought back home but it was able to be fixed.  A colony of fire ants had to be evicted and it had a loose battery cable but it is running again.  Yesterday was just a crazy day and I never got to the computer at all and today I had babies.

Week 7 in our Homeschool

We almost had a full four day week of school.  I had an appointment Thursday afternoon but left some assignments that could be completed without me for the children to do.

Bible: We read 4 chapters in the book of Luke.

History: We completed lessons 46, 47, and 48 in The Mystery of History Vol 1.

Art: We watched an art history video on Pissaro and the children completed a charcoal drawing from Creating a Masterpiece.  The recommended paper was out of stock and what I have did not work great but Christian and Lily were pretty happy with their field of daisies.

Music Appreciation: We read the first chapter in Robert Schumann.

Science: We started Apologia Botany.  This is the only book from the Young Explorer series that I have never done before.  I am surprised that it seems to read at a lower reading level then the others in the series which may be better for Emmie but may not be challenging enough for Christian and Lily (Anthony is using General Science this year.) We read all of chapter one and looked at moss and leaves.  We will do the main experiment and notebooking activities next week.

Emmie: Finished AAR Level 2!! Ready to move on to Level 3.  She completed 4 days in math and level 7 in Classical Spelling.  In literature she is working on adjectives and Insect Detective.

Lily completed 4 days in CTC Math and 4 lessons in her Reading Eggs workbook.  In lightning lit she is working on The Earth Dragon Awakes.

Anthony and Christian completed Step 27 in AAS Level 6 and did 4 days of math.  They are working on writing a 150 word opinion paper in Jump In.

Other Activities this Week

Monday the girls had gymnastics.

Tuesday Alex had trap.

Wednesday we had Kid's Club and Children's Choir and youth.

Thursday Emmie had dance.

Friday the girls were back at music lessons!

Saturday we the girls and I spent some time on embroidery and Lily made two table runners.  We are going to sell some baking sets and table runners (hopefully.)

I hope you had a great week!

Happy Homeschooling!

A colony of fire ants had to be evicted?!?!?!? That's hilarious and horrifying! Here's hoping the car lasts as long as you need it to! :)

The daisies are lovely and so are the embroidery projects/table runners. I wish you good sales!

What a treat it must have been for you to have a "regular" week after all of your fairs. Here's wishing you happy homeschool days.

I love the embroidery project. Difficult for my little boy. If I'll have a girl too....
