Summer is going by way too fast. I can't believe it is July already! What happened to June?
I have ordered some of the curriculum we will be using for next year and it came in and the end of last week.
All About Reading Level 4 arrived.
And since I had to order that I went ahead and ordered the brand new second edition of All About Reading Level One, even though I won't be needing to use it for a little while. I was excited to see the changes that they made to the program and the additional stories. We love AAR!
The worksheets I needed for My Father's World Creation from A to Z arrived also and Emmie couldn't wait to get started. So we did two days worth this week. I have no more preschoolers in my homeschool :(
Lily, Christian, and Anthony did a page from NotebookingPages.com.
We also did a lesson in VeritasBible.com, practiced multiplication facts, did some reading in Orphs of the Woodlands, and worked on Latin in Three Little Pigs.
Tuesday we had a 4 H Survival Skills Workshop that we all enjoyed.
After the workshop, we had lunch and the children wanted to go fishing. It was the first time I have ever taken them fishing by myself. Nick and Alex are old enough to do all of the work, and I just have to supervise. Anthony does not like to fish so he read a book. All of the rest of the children caught at least one. Alex caught two that were big enough to bring home including an 18 in catfish.
Thursday I decided I would take the children to the museum after lunch. While I was watering the garden. I came around the corner and found this.
They wanted me to make them some tea but I told them we were leaving in just a little while (I had been keeping it a surprise.) I promised that the next day after grocery shopping I would make them tea for their tea party and that we could make some cookies.
We had a good time at the museum. The dinosaur exhibit is always one of our favorites and they added several things to it this time around. They had started setting it up last time we were there so we already had seen the bones and the footprints but the dinosaurs that roared and moved were not put up until after we had visited in May.
After grocery shopping and errands on Friday. The girls got to work making cookies for their tea party. They wanted to make sugar cookies (I love to bake but do NOT like making sugar cookies!) I bought a mix to make it a little less messy. They had a great time cutting out and decorating their cookies. I made them some tea and they got all dressed up. They said it was the best tea party ever. The boys did not want to attend, but they willingly ate the cookies.
I hope you had a great week.
Happy Homeschooling!
