Week 29 in our Homeschool
Bible: We read 4 chapters in the book of Romans.
History: Since we finished our history curriculum for the year, we started watching the Drive Thru History the Gospels Episodes over again, one episode each day. We have not seen them in a few years and have loved rewatching them.
Art History: We watched a video on Pablo Picasso
Art: They did a beginning drawing from Creating a Masterpiece of a bunny.
Music Appreciation: We completed a chapter on Edward MacDowell.
Science: We completed lesson 6 in Botany and went back and did an activity on an earlier lesson of preserving a flower.
Language: We completed lesson 2 in Visual Latin.
Geography: Our lesson was on the U.K. this week.
Emmie completed two lessons in AAR Level 3 and 4 of her math lessons. In Lightning Lit her lessons were based on the book Snowflake Bentley and the grammar lessons were on Homophones.
Lily completed 4 pages of her Reading Eggs workbook and 4 math lessons. Her Lightning Lit assignments are on Where the Mountain Meets the Moon and grammar lessons were on quotation marks.
Anthony and Christian read 4 chapters on Adam of the Road, finished their How To Papers and completed Step 12 in AAS Level 7.
Other Activities this Week
We introduced our babies to the rest of the herd and put them in the pasture.
We had beautiful weather most of the week. It was 88 one day and the girls just had to get the sprinkler out!
We planted some flowers in the ground (the vegetables did not make it into the ground yet.) and planted seeds into pots. Nick got a part time temporary job working at a greenhouse.
The girls made an Easter Dirt Cake.
We worked a lot on the livestock barn throughout the week. Saturday almost half was enclosed by tin before the rain started.
Sunday morning it was raining really hard and we had to go out and make some adjustments to the barn to keep the babies dry. Then we listened to the church service on the radio. The afternoon weather was beautiful and sunny. We headed over to Chelsea's to hunt and decorate eggs. Liam was so excited about the eggs! Willow has started walking along things and standing up by herself!
That night about 7 high winds and rain started out of nowhere. One minute it was calm the next minute our trampoline was in the woods. Two trees went down but thankfully not close to the house, shop, or animals. Damage was done to the unfinished parts of the barn and the tin flew into the neighbors yard (and in a tree.) All of the pots we planted our seeds in are gone but the vegetable plants were saved and brought inside. The power went out and we just got it back this morning. Thankfully we have a generator to plug in the fridge and freezer and a couple of lights.
I hope you had a great week!
Happy Homeschooling!

Whoa! What a storm! I'm glad you're all safe and have your power back. We had a lot of rain, but not storm conditions like you had. How nice to get to have a lovely Easter celebration before the storm hit. And we had kids in swimsuits one day last week, too. :)
