We all had a great time. I am so thankful to be able to volunteer and pray that we touched the hearts of the children that attended. There is something about VBS that is so draining! We were all very tired every day and did not do much of anything else.
Some of our pictures from the week. Since I was in Emmie's group I had plenty of opportunities to take her picture and not so many to take pictures of the others, but I did sneak around a little to snap some pictures and see what they were up to.
Our theme this year was Crocodile Doc. Anthony copied his name tag and made this drawing during recreation.
Every day after VBS I let the children swim and then we ate lunch and watched a movie. It was very hot!
Our chickens turned 4 weeks old this week and it was time to move them out of the box and into a pen.
We did do one Art Achieve lesson this week.
The closing program for VBS was on Friday and all of the children did a wonderful job singing! After that we had to run some errands and buy a few groceries.
I thought we were going to get a day home on Saturday, but we were three tiles short for the bathroom and the pool sand that we got for the new filter was not the right weight, so we had to take a trip to Texarkana. When we got to Lowes I saw the sign saying that they were having a Build and Grow workshop. If you have never done these, they are so cool! And free! The instructions show the kids step by step what to do and they get their own little hammers and aprons. They also get a patch for each project they do and a certificate. We got there about 30 minutes after it started but they had plenty of projects left. Last time we were there they had the children working at tables and it was so loud when they were all hammering! This time we sat on the floor and it was much quieter! Nick helped Lily, Alex helped Emmie, and Anthony and Christian could do their own. They made Captain America while daddy shopped for the things we needed.
On the way home, the van started acting funny. The radio turned itself off and the air wasn't cold. Thankfully we made it home ( an hour and 20 minutes drive.) Art thinks its the alternator and is working on it as I am typing this. I am hoping it is a quick and easy fix! We cannot fit everyone in the truck so Art and Alex stayed home from church today.
I hope you had a great week!
Happy Homeschooling!
