Our Week in Review (Aug 3rd-Aug 8th)

Our week started with a trip to the dentist.  We drive about an hour and twenty minutes to the children's pediatric dentist, but it is worth it.  The staff is wonderful.  6 children with clean and sparkly teeth in 40 minutes.  Christian had a teeny tiny cavity he fixed right them but Lily and Emmie have to go back to each get a cavity fixed :(

When we go to Texarkana, we often have to go several places since we do not get there too often. When we go to the dentist I try to take the children someplace fun but summer is hard with all the children out of school I don't like to attempt places like Chuck E Cheese.  After the dentist we grabbed some lunch and went to the bowling alley to use our Kids Bowl Free coupons.  They hadn't been bowling since last summer, so I thought that they would have fun.  We did have a few tears of frustration from the two little boys when we first got started but after a little bit they got back in the swing of things.

She was so funny lining up her shot, but with the dinosaur's help and the bumpers she bowled a 118!

We ran our other errands and we finally got home by 6:00 that night.

Tuesday morning we had the Summer Science 4 H Workshop.

Wednesday our power was out for about 5 hours! Thankfully it came on right about the hottest part of the day.

Thursday and Friday didn't have anything special going on.  I did spend a bit of time starting to get our school stuff for the 2015/2016 school year ready.

We had school two days this week.  We finished 2 more stops in Ancient Egypt and we will finish it up this week.  Lily did two lessons in First Start Reading.  Nicholas started reading Puddin'head Wilson for When Worlds Collide Literature.  Alex continued reading The Archaeology Book.  Anthony and Christian finished Lesson 32 and started Lesson 33 in AAR Level 2.

Miss Emelia did 2 lessons in Horizons Preschool.  Then Friday night she asked if she could please do some school work so we did one more lesson.

Lillian painted this Friday evening while I was fixing supper.

Another day this week I found these flowers on my kitchen table.  Lily made them for a surprise for me.

Happy Homeschooling!
