Tuesday was a hard day. I have not talked very much publicly about the issues I am dealing with with my oldest daughter for several different reasons. It has been very painful and I just don't feel that it is right for me to share her story in this way. But Tuesday was a hard day for me (there have been many.) During one of the hardest points in the day, a great sense of peace came over me along with this verse, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6. I cannot change the situation but I can trust in the Lord and pray that she will begin to allow Him to direct her paths.
So after my really rotten day Tuesday did get better and the horrible migraine and it's side effects eased up, I decided that we just needed to do something fun. Wednesday we headed off to Mid America Museum for the day. It was pretty crowded but we still had a really good time.
Thursday we had our Food Explorers 4 H Workshop. While we were in town we went ahead and did our grocery shopping.
Friday daddy was off for his 4th of July holiday and we just took care of some things around the house and had our traditional pizza and a movie.
We usually go to the lake for fireworks, but they did not have them this year. Instead we stayed home. We had a campfire and cooked delicious hot smoes while the children told made up stories. They lit some sparklers and then we set off some fireworks that daddy bought. The children had so much fun they want to stay home every year.
In school this week Christian and Anthony completed Lesson 25 of All About Reading Level 2.
Lillian started working on our last unit in My Father's World Creation From A to Z, "y" for yellow. She did her picture card page, sound discrimination page, and math page.
Nick is still working on CursiveLogic (upcoming review.)
Alex started working on a unit in Funtastic Unit Studies (upcoming review.)
We also have been working on our study on Ancient Egypt (upcoming review.) We completed 3 stops this week. We also worked on math and strategy skills playing a game called Expanders (upcoming review)and listened to With Lee in Virginia (upcoming review.)
Happy Homeschooling!
