We have to start with some baby bunny cuteness. They will be 4 weeks old tomorrow. The girls did not want to name them until we know for sure whether they are boys or girls so we have just been calling them our little fluff nuggets.
Liam had some fun playing with the bunnies and then putting leaves on the slide and sliding into them.
Willow was napping when we were outside and she had fun playing in a box.
Week 12 in Our Homeschool
Bible: We finished 1 Timothy.
History: We finished lessons 31-33 in The Mystery of History Vol II. We also watched a documentary on George Washington Carver.
Geography:We learned about New Jersey and continued reading The Cabin Faced West.
Latin: We completed lesson 9 in Visual Latin.
Language Arts: Emmie started reading Mr. Poppers Penguins. Lily started The Borrowers, and the boys continued Treasure Island. They are also working on writing in 1st Person Narrative.
Spelling/Reading: Emmie completed lessons 7 and 8 in AAS Level 2. The boys completed Step 23 in AAS Level 7.
Math: 4 More lessons down. Teaching Textbooks online has started upgrading to 4.0. I had to update Emmie although I didn't really want to. I am afraid it will have a hard time running on my old laptop. It took me 3 hours to get it downloaded and I'm not sure how will it run, but I am hoping I am wrong and it will all run well!
Other Activities this Week
The girls had gymnastics and dance and recorded a new handbell song. We had our first 4 H meeting since March. It was a planning meeting in case the SeaPerch competition happens this year. If all go well we will start meeting again in January.
We went on our last camping trip for 2020. The weather was mostly really good. It was very misty and wet Friday morning (the kids said it felt like we were in a cloud) but it cleared up after lunch and it was raining Sunday morning when we were leaving. We had a good time though!
We played a lot on the playground.
Explored around the lake.
Went bike riding and hiking.
Celebrated Alex's birthday and spent lots of time around the campfire.
We did some fishing and when the girls needed something to do I told them to grab some paint and some dry rocks and they got to work painting rocks.
Anna did her best to protect us from squirrels. There was a nest right over the campsite and at one point a squirrel had the audacity to steal food out of her dish!
Nick finished his finals so he is home until January. We are taking off school next week for Thanksgiving because everyone is home.
I hope you had a great week!
Happy Homeschooling!
