4 H Cookie and Bread Contest

Every year our county 4 H has a Cookie and Bread Contest.  There are many different categories that you can enter such as: quick breads, muffins, yeast specialty bread, yeast loaf, corn bread, drop cookies, bar cookies, and cut out cookies.  There are three different age categories.  Cloverbuds are 5-8 years old, can use mixes for their products, but cannot enter in the yeast breads categories.  Juniors are 9-13 years old and can only use a mix in the cookies made with a mix category, and Seniors are 14-19 years old.  We drop off our entries (3 of each item) and then return 1 hour and a half later to find out how everyone did.

We started doing our baking after church on Sunday and finished up this afternoon.

Lily and Emmie both made Hello Kitty Cookies with edible stickers.  Lily won 1st prize and Emmie won second in the Cloverbud Drop Cookie category.

Lily also made Chocolate Chocolate Chip muffins and won 1st place in the Cloverbud Muffin category.

Emmie also made Chocolate Chip Bar Cookies (she calls these Crownies) and won 2nd place in the Cloverbud Bar Cookie category.

Christian made pretzels and won 3rd place in the Junior Yeast Specialty Bread category.

He also made Chocolate Chocolate Chip cookies with white chocolate chips and won 2nd place in the Junior Drop Cookie Contest.

Anthony made dinner rolls and won 1st place in the Junior Yeast Specialty Bread Category.

Alex made cinnamon rolls and won 2nd place in the Junior Yeast Specialty Bread Category.

Nick made brownies with a mint chocolate icing and won 1st place in the Senior Bar Cookie category.
