We had some pretty weather this week and spent quite a bit of time outside on those days. We also had a birthday this week and took a trip to the zoo! Ironically our zoo trip was one year to the day that we were last in Little Rock for the SeaPerch competition in 2020, the last "big thing" we did before the world shut down. This year's contest is virtual only and we decided not to participate. Maybe next year things will be more back to normal and we will be able to compete in person again.
Week 22 in our Homeschool:
Bible: We read one Psalm each day and read the storybook Bible on the flood and the Tower of Babel. I pulled out an old Fisher Price Little People book on the flood that Liam loved.
History: This week's lessons in The MOH Vol 2 covered Richard the Lionhearted, Saladin, and the Third Crusade, The Classic Tale of Robin Hood, and The Shoguns and Samurai of Japan.
Geography: We covered Iowa and Missouri.
Latin: We completed lesson 14 on pronouns in Visual Latin.
Language Arts: The boys completed their Expository Essays and read 8 chapters of Tom Sawyer and answered the questions. Lily completed 4 chapters in Heidi and Emmie worked on her chapters and assignments for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Lightning Literature.)
Math: Independent Work
Science: Independent Work
We celebrated Dr. Suess Day by reading information on Dr. Suess and reading a big stack of his books!!
Some photos of our week.....
Our sweet Emmie had a birthday!
The zoo was a lot more crowded then I expected. But, it was Saturday and the weather was pretty. Masks were required on everyone 10 and up. All of the indoor exhibits were closed (bird houses, reptiles, etc..), the cafe was closed but they had outdoor food. A few of their favorite exhibits were gone (flamingos, alligators, capybara), and a few of their favorite animals were not visible. But we had a great time. They really liked the new play area made out of natural items, it was a lot of fun. It took us a little over 2 hours to go through (and a 2 hour drive one way) the babies were tired when we were done! Nick and Alex were at work and not able to go with us. Hoping we will get to go back in the fall.
I hope you had a great week!
Happy Homeschooling!
Happy birthday to your Emmie!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd your kids and grandkids are growing up so much! My favorite pics are the mud pics . . . And the baby goats. :). I'm totally impressed that your littles stayed at the edge of the mud. Mine would have been in it . . . as they were today!
MOH vol 2 is my favorite volume.
