Our Week in Review (July 11th-17th)

I have been very busy trying to get everything figured out and ready for next year.  I have made decisions on all of our curriculum and will be doing a series on that starting this week. I have changed a few things and I am really hoping that those will be changes for the better.  Our schedule will be changing a bit next year too and that may take some trial and error to figure out what will work best for everyone.

This week Alex went to state 4 H camp in Little Rock from Monday morning until Wednesday afternoon.  The camp had an Olympic theme.  He had 5 different workshops: sailing/rowing, archery, shooting, Medal Making Jeopardy. and water polo.  They also played several team games and relays.  They had camp fires and recreation time.  He really enjoyed it and can't wait for camp again next year.

The rest of us did not leave the house from church last Sunday until groceries this Friday.  That was very nice!  Chelsea came and visited for a few hours one day and we had some friends over another day.

We did do a little bit of school work.

We did two lesson in VeritasBible.com.

We did two lessons in Foreign Language for Kids by Kids.

The boys spent some time in the Orphs of the Woodlands app.

The girls and I did a lesson from ArtAchieve.

Emmie finished the unit on Creation in My Father's World Kindergarten.
Lily sat with us and read a book.

The children spent a long time one day making creations from the pattern blocks.

They also made a huge hopscotch outside.  It had 50 squares to jump.  It was close to 100 degrees when they did it.  I couldn't believe they were out there playing hop scotch!

Art took Alex, Nick, and Christian out in the boat on Saturday.  The girls love the boat and to go fishing but it is hard to take the girls on the boat to go fishing.  Fitting 4 people is a stretch and the girls attention span for fishing is not very long so I told them they could go another time.  Anthony does not enjoy fishing and is very happy to get to stay home.  Lily and Emmie took their own fishing trip in the play room.  They made a boat out of chairs, cut out some paper fish and used sticks for fishing poles.  They caught a bunch!

I got three packages this week with items we are reviewing.

Flip Stir Puzzles
Homeschool Scholastics Way Comes Home
Jolly Literacy Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar.

I also am getting the new edition of Apologia Exploring Creation with Astronomy this coming week.

I hope you had a great week!

Happy Homeschooling!
