December Nature Seekers 4 H Meeting

Usually for our 4 H meeting in December we have a pizza party.  We have done this for several years.  It is also our biggest expense every year.  Our club does not have very much money right now and I did not want to spend what we had on pizza so I decided to do something a little different this year.

We met out at Grandview to do some nature crafts and have a little cook out.  This cost the club nothing.  One of  the members offered to bring hotdogs and buns, I brought drinks and a sweet snack and someone else brought cookies.  Grandview provided the supplies for the crafts, the fire pit ,wood, and the sticks to roast the hot dogs on.

We had the smallest turnout we have ever had for our December meeting, but the children that were there had a great time.  I think we will try to do another cook out in the spring.  Next time I will make sure to get marshmallows and some chips to go with the hot dogs.

For the nature crafts there were several different supplies that were available that allowed the children to make whatever their imaginations could come up with.  There were some printouts of ideas in case they couldn't think of anything, but all of the children were very creative!

the mama's were working too!

I made this snowman isn't it cute!!

They had so much fun cooking the hot dogs! And the fire felt good as the sun went down it got a little chilly!
