Review: 99 Stories From the Bible

Recently I had an opportunity to use and review 99 Stories From the Bible by Juliet David from Kregel Publications with my family.

99 Stories From The Bible is a hardcover 196 page book that can be purchased for $11.99.  The book contains 99 Stories from the Bible: 53 from the Old Testament and 46 from the New Testament.  The book covers key events from the Bible starting with the Creation and ending with Jesus's return.  Each story is illustrated and covers 2 pages.  The text is very brief as the book is geared for preschool ages.

For example:

A Blind Man Sees

"One day Jesus was visiting a village near Jerusalem.  Some friends brought out a blind man to him.  Please help our friend to see! they begged Jesus.  Jesus took the man's hand and led him out of the village.  Jesus placed his hands over the blind man's eyes.  His eyes opened.  Now the blind man could see clearly.  Jesus helped this blind see!"

Cute illustrations and simple text make this a great story book Bible for toddlers and younger preschool age children.  The simplicity of the stories makes it easy to read several stories and keep the attention of the children.  Reading these stories over and over again at younger ages will make the Bible more familiar to children when they are ready to start reading it for themselves.
