Favorite Recipes: Bread and Butter Squash Pickles

We had a ton of zucchini squash growing in our garden this year.  So Chelsea decided that she was going to make some into pickles.  I admit that I wasn't too sure about how they would turn out, but they are really good!  Here is the recipe she used:

To make 5-6 pints

4 cups squash chopped
2 cups vinegar
3 cups of sugar
2 tsp celery seed
2 tsp mustard seed
2 tsp turmeric

1.  Sprinkle squash with 3 Tbsp of salt.  Let sit for an hour then drain.
2.Mix other ingredients and bring to a hard boil.
3. Add squash and bring to a boil again.
4.  Fill jars and put in water bath for 10 min.
